This version of the Vista versions is a bit more extended then the Windows Vista Home Basic version. This version provides more productivity and entertainment on your computer either you are at home or on the way. In this version is Windows Media Center integrated so you can enjoy even more easily from your digital pictures, tv, movies and music.
This version of the Vista versions has a better security and a higher reliability .Also is this version provided with the Windows Aero technology which shows you dynamic reflections, superb animations, transparent and glassy menu bars and lets you switch from one opened screen to another in a three-dimensional lay-out. Also there is a search function and new ways to order your documents so you can easily find your e-mails, documents, pictures or music you need.
Another feature in this version is that your documents, computer and your family are better protected than they were in previous versions of Windows. Also you can make automatically a backup of your files like your pictures, music, movies, documents etcetera. Furthermore, parents can configure the computer to let their children use the computer safely and well.
About the entertainment, there is plenty of it in this version. By using the integrated Windows Media Center it is much more easy to order and enjoy your pictures, music, DVD’s, movies and your recorded TV-programs. You can do this from your computer or even from your TV in the living room. Also it is much easier to burn movies on a DVD.
As I said is Windows Vista Home Premium also a good version for laptops. For example there is an improved power options tool, improved wireless network options and a tool to synchronize easily with other devices like mobile phones or PDA's.
Advice:
If you want a more graphical display and use the Windows Aero technology this version is the right version. And if you want something more then just surfing the internet, typing documents and watching your holiday pictures, for example burning DVD's, using the Windows Media Center features and making backups easily, I recommend this version. This version is a bit more expensive then the Home Basic version but also not the most expensive one. So if your budget isn’t so much I recommend this version.
