Do you want to convert DivX, Mpeg or convert Avi to DVD?

avi to dvd

Convert Avi to DVD
Popular movie files are files like Avi, Mpeg, DivX, Xvid, Smv etc. Unfortunately many DVD players cannot read these files and you can't watch these movies in your DVD player in the living room.

I write this guide to help you convert these files into DVD files so your DVD player CAN read the disc and so you can watch your movie in your DVD player in the living room!

On the internet there are many freeware video editors and video tools available to merge Mpg, Avi, Divx or Xvid video files.
This step by step guide will make it very simple for you to convert DivX, Xvid, Mpeg and to convert Avi to DVD, using the free video editor 'DVD Flick'.DVD Flick is freeware video editing software.

Well now here we go

Step 1:
First you need to download the free movie editor DVD Flick. Go to www.dvdflick.net and download this video editor via 'Download' and then click the large yellow button 'Download DVD Flick'.

Step 2:
Save this file on an easy to remember place like your 'Desktop'.
Then double click this file to start the installation.

Step 3:
Install this program by clicking 5 times 'Next' and finally click 'Install'.
Then you click again 'Nex' and then 'Finish' and DVD Flick is installed.

Step 4:
Now start DVD Flick and you see the following screen.

Step 5:
This is the main screen of DVD Flick. Adding a movie file to your DVD is quite easy. You simply drag the movie file to the screen above or you click the 'Add title' button.
DVD Flick supports the most usual (but also some less usual) video formats. Use the yellow 'Up' and 'Down' arrows to place your added movies in the right order.

Step 6:
Now that you have added your Avi, DivX, Xvid or Mpeg movie(s) you choose a destination folder where DVD Flick can store your DVD file(s) using the 'Browse' button.

Step 7:
If you have added more movie files to DVD Flick, DVD Flick creates for each movie a separate title on your DVD. You can edit the properties of the title by clicking the 'Edit title' button. The properties you can edit are for example settings for sound, add subtitle etc.

Step 8:
If you want to edit this DVD later you can save this project using the button 'Save project'. Or you can open a recent saved file using the button 'Open project' in the menu.

Step 9:
The general settings about making the DVD can be found behind the button 'Project settings'. Here you can choose for example your DVD writer and you can choose what type of format you wish for the DVD. DVD Flick creates standard a 4.3 GB disc.
DVD Flick can also create a CD, mini-DVD or a double layer DVD.

Here you also choose not to write the DVD to disc immediately but you can also choose for the option to store the DVD to hard drive.

Step 10:
My advice is to walk through these settings and make the settings you wish for your DVD.
If you don't know what the video- and audio settings mean, leave it the way they are because DVD Flick is standard configured Ok.

Step 11:
Now, place an empty DVD in your DVD writer and click the 'Create DVD' button. Now DVD Flick will first check every file, convert them to the right format and will then burn the DVD.
The converting process is quite time consuming and also depends on the speed of your computer.

Step 12:
After the DVD Flick process has reached 100% your DVD is created and you can watch it now in your DVD player in the living room.
